5 Ways to Use Spotify without Ads for Free in 2023

Spotify free will play some ads between music playback every once in a while. If you don’t want to get interrupted by an ad while enjoying music, here are 5 different methods to block Spotify ads. 

I am not saying mute Spotify ads while playing. With any of these 5 methods, all the ads will be removed completely. Most of them are open-source programs, so feel free to use them. You can enjoy Spotify music without ads on Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, etc. 

Block Spotify Desktop App for Windows

If you use Spotify for Windows Desktop app, then you can use this BlockTheSpot to block Spotify ads, which is available on Github. This will not work if your Spotify app was installed from Microsoft Store. If that’s the case, you should download and install Spotify app from Spotify official website. 

Step 1. Download the Chrome_elf.zip from its Github release and extract the file. 

Step 2. Locate where Spotify is installed. If you install the Spotify app by default, you can press Windows + R and enter %appdata%\Spotify\” to open the Spotify Folder.

Step 3. Move dpapi.dll and config.ini you just extracted to Spotify folder. You should rename the original file or simply replace it with the new file.

Now you can use Spotify Desktop app without ads.

Block Ads on Spotify Web App

If you prefer to play music with Spotify web app, then you can use the Spotless Chrome extension. This will not only block ads on Spotify, but also control your Spotify player on other devices. Alternatively, you can also use other ad blocker extension like Ublock Origin to use Spotify free without ads.

With Ublock Origin installed, you will not see display ads or hear audio ads while playing Spotify music.

Spotify No Ads for Android

For Android users, you can download the Spotify Premium Mod APK. Spotify Mod version allows you to unlock most of the premium features for free. With it, you can skip unlimited tracks, play any track from a playlist, block all ads, enable high-quality music playback with seek bar.

However, there is a risk of using the mod version of the Spotify app. If Spotify ever finds out, your account may get suspended forever. You are at your own risk. If Spotify Premium is available in your country, you should consider it.
